On August 19-22, 2004, David Meléndez will host the 4th Annual New York Salsa Congress at the Hilton Hotel in the heart of Manhattan (53rd Street & Ave. of the Americas) in New York City. Meléndez, a former dancer, started this premier annual dance event in 2001, holding the first NY Salsa Congress at the Nevele Hotel in the Catskills Mountains. The second year, the event was held at the Kutcher Hotel also in the Catskills Mountains and by the third year (2003) he was able to bring the event home to Manhattan at the Roosevelt Hotel on Madison Avenue.
