A pesar de ser el primer gran crítico literario mexicano del siglo 20, la obra de Jorge Cuesta (Veracruz, 1903-Ciudad de México, 1942) tuvo que esperar 25 años después de su muerte para que una nueva generación de escritores la valorara. Hoy, sus 122 ensayos y prosas varias ya van en su tercera edición.
