BOSTON -- Ira Segel, president of specialty retailer Mr. Sid, is ready to test his luck with the younger set by bowing a new concept, Stonestreet, in Cambridge, Mass., over Labor Day weekend.

It's been a whirlwind month for Segel, who snapped up the name and other assets of Stonestreet, a 20-year retail fixture in Harvard Square, in a July bankruptcy auction and then dispatched son Stuart to New York to grab fall merchandise.

Segel hopes the 1,200-square-foot store will be the first of several Stonestreets to open over the next five years. ...
