Jan. 9--A Waco man is buying up property in President George W. Bush's adopted hometown of Crawford, and he confirmed Tuesday he will build a bank downtown.
William F. Stevens said he will demolish an old feed mill at the northeast corner of Highway 317 and Farm Road 185 to build Security Bank of Crawford. It will be a state-chartered bank and serve as a branch of another Texas bank Stevens and his fellow shareholders own: Security Bank of Whitesboro.
