Jan. 26--A major Uni-Marts Inc. stockholder is exploring options that could lead to a purchase offer or a change of management at the State College-based convenience store company.

In a filing Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, HP Limited Partnership said the retailer's present management "is not committed to maximizing the value" of its stock.

To protect its investment, HP said it intends to join with third parties interested in making an offer for Uni-Marts, or at least changing the management.
