It's doubtful the American Indian tribes of the Great Plains ever faced quite the same problems Linda Holley has as a modern devotee to the art and use of tepees.
Holley, a retired art teacher from Jacksonville, Fla., who has owned and camped in tepees since 1972, has had people pop in uninvited at extremely indelicate times, try to rent her tepee for romantic interludes and once had the top of her van crushed by the weight of the 30-foot wooden tepee poles.
