Aug. 11--TOKYO -- Mitsui Oil Exploration Co. said Wednesday it will acquire a 20 percent interest in an oil and natural gas exploration project at a deep-water oil field located north of Bali, Indonesia.
The exploration site, called North Bali I, is currently owned 100 percent by the Bali unit of Australian oil exploration company Santos Ltd., and Mitsui Oil will acquire the 20 percent interest through its Bali unit.
The site is located 10 kilometers north of Bali with the depth of water ranging from 150 to 970 meters, covering a total of 3,954 square km.
