May 8--THE DINING CAR offers delivery of hot restaurant meals from Carpinteria to Goleta.

Owner Brett Harman started the business in Santa Barbara after opening a similar delivery service, Courier & Chives, in Los Angeles and catering mainly to the motion picture industry. Manager Michael Kling runs the Santa Barbara operation.

"We publish booklets that are a 50-page compilation of restaurants and their menus," Mr. Harman said. Customers make their selections and call them in to The Dining Car. The Dining Car, in turn, calls the restaurant, ...
