May 21--That familiar component of Indian jewelry, the light blue gemstone that graces necklaces and bracelets, concha belts and bolos, earrings and pendants is back -- and turquoise is big, very big, not just in Native American jewelry but in the wider area of fashion jewelry.
Turquoise fashion jewelry, local jewelers and jewelry suppliers say, is so popular that it's hard to keep up with the demand coming from all over the country both for the semi-precious gemstone and the jewelry made with it.
