May 31--MESILLA, N.M.--An increase in monthly water rates for Mesilla residents and homes and businesses located outside the town limits but connected to Mesilla's water system has been proposed by the town's board of trustees.
A first reading of amendments to Mesilla's utilities ordinance was conducted at Monday's board meeting. Also proposed is the creation of a separate monthly rate structure for businesses and other commercial and governmental users in Mesilla.
