Jun. 4--Merchants & Manufacturers Bancorporation Inc. said Monday it plans to acquire Westby, Wis.-based Fortress Bancshares Inc. in a $21.2 million deal that will expand Merchants & Manufacturers' territory outside of Wisconsin for the first time. Banking

Merchants & Manufacturers, based in New Berlin, has agreed to pay $30 per share in a combination of 55 percent stock and 45 percent cash. The sale price is about 18 percent higher than Fortress' most recent closing price of $25.50.
