BOISE, Idaho_Term limits, once a prominent feature of Republican campaigns nationwide, are under assault from a surprising foe in Idaho: GOP lawmakers motivated by a demographics-driven political revolution that threatens the party's long-dominance of the Legislature.

In January, as the first order of business, Idaho's Legislature voted to repeal a term limits statute that voters approved eight years ago. Almost all of the legislators who approved the repeal would have been unable to seek re-election if term limits applied.
