Aug. 2--MESILLA, N.M.--Ceremonies to finalize the sale of a surplus fire truck by the town of Mesilla to Ascencion, Mexico, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mesilla Volunteer Fire Department.

The ceremony is open to the public. The Fire Department is adjacent to Mesilla Town Hall.

Fernando Castaneda, mayor of Ascencion, will lead a 20-member delegation from the Mexican city to Mesilla. Also expected to attend are Guillermina Lopez, the secretary for the city of Ascencion, as well as the city manager and directors ...
