Sep. 22--Across Pennsylvania, the number of medical-malpractice awards for $1 million or more is down for the second year in a row. But Philadelphia is still the leader in juries awarding millions to injured patients.
And overall, Philadelphia awards and settlements make up nearly half of the record $348 million paid out by a state fund in the last 12 months.
