Aug. 2--For some York County residents, a long weekend at the beach may seem like an unattainable dream.

Those people need not despair, though. York County has plenty to offer residents who need a vacation but can't get away.

The county boasts 22 golf courses, more than 4,000 acres of county parks, factory tours and history for the academic buff in the family.

The added bonus is that many of the attractions in York County are free or relatively inexpensive.
