Oct. 22--CLERMONT, Fla.--A month after being granted its first complete water-use permit in five years, Clermont is facing a surge in developer requests for city utilities.
And with each new project seeking Clermont water and sewer service -- including five requests expected to be submitted at its council meeting tonight -- the city now must weigh competing concerns.
Given the tight restrictions of its new consumptive-use permit, can Clermont afford to sell water to projects outside city limits? But with a rival private utility looking to expand ...
