Much discussion of African art has dealt with where it fits into the bigger picture. Some of the earliest discussion, of course, simply asked how it could get into the picture--any picture. The critical theorists posed more questions. How should we frame the picture? How should we look at it? How do we deconstruct it? Others asked, How much does it cost? Where can I buy it?
