SAN DIEGO -- United Defense Industries, Inc. (NYSE:UDI) announced a $1.6 million contract award from the U.S. Coast Guard for the docking and repair on the USCGC CHASE (WHEC 718) to Southwest Marine (SWM), its San Diego, Calif., shipyard. If all options are exercised by MSC, the contract could exceed $3 million.
Work is scheduled to begin at SWM on August 4, 2004, and complete on September 8, 2004. The dry dock work includes underwater body preservation and mechanical and propeller maintenance.
