PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Japan-based MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO. has shifted production of cost-competitive products to China and Thailand. And, the company is now planning to use Thailand as a base to penetrate markets in Indochina. In so doing, MATSUSHITA is planning to invest $90,000,000 in order to expand its Thai production capacity where it presently operates 5 plants by the year 2006. As a result, the company is aiming to increase its sales from about $40,000,000 to over $480,000,000.
