Grand Prairie, Texas, Officials Seek to Boost Slumping SAT Scores.

Sep. 4--News SAT scores in Grand Prairie declined this year, as did the number of students taking the college admissions test.
Earlier this year, 340 students took the SAT, down from 375 in 2002. The number of test-takers has been decreasing for the last several years.
The average SAT score districtwide was 981 out of a possible 1600, below both the state average of 993 and the national average of 1026.
