Nov. 18--Though several restaurant chains in the region have stopped using green onions altogether, local suppliers say sales are just fine.

At Bill's Produce in the Strip District, 20 to 25 cases of green onions are sold each week -- mostly to individual buyers -- and there has not been any major slowdown.

"I'm selling them," said Bill, the owner, who declined to give his last name. "They ain't on fire, but they're moving."

At his store, where the scallions mostly come from Salinas, Calif., he is selling two bunches for 89 cents.
