Jul. 20--Construction company Montpellier has pulled out of a contract to build a new UKpound 18m biomedical research laboratory at Oxford University after a campaign of intimidation by animal rights activists.

The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry said it is "appalling" that illegal activities by a small band of people prevented Montpellier working on a facility that "will bring great benefit to people."
