Dec. 10--SANFORD, N.C.--Lee County took its economic temperature Tuesday and found that its health is dependent on manufacturing.

About 40 percent on the county's jobs are in manufacturing, far above the 15 percent in the Raleigh-centered Research Triangle region, of which Lee County is a part.

Nearly 100 people attended the Lee County Committee of 100 quarterly meeting at Chef Paul's Cafe and got an overview of the county's economy.
