PORT CANAVERAL. Fla. _ Art aboard cruise ships is mainly confined to public rooms and stairwells, but on Royal Caribbean's newest ship, the Mariner of the Seas, it blooms in a most unlikely place _ the pool deck.
While most ships simply mount a bronze statue of leaping dolphins, a demure mermaid or the like by the pool, the Mariner has transformed most of the deck into a gallery of neo-pop art.
