It was not an easy decision, leaving home and moving so far away. But Paul Terek has a cell phone. He uses it all the time.
The sound of his father's voice inspires him _ even in those rare moments when they don't have much to say.
Terek, the NCAA runner-up in the decathlon last year, will compete this weekend in the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Palo Alto, Calif. The 1997 Livonia Franklin grad and former Michigan State All-American is ranked among the top decathletes in the nation.
