Johan Santana continues to be Minnesota's money pitcher in this pennant race. He struck out 10 Royals on Sunday while raising his record in August to 4-0.

Not bad for a guy who was kicked in the head by the organization and banished to the bullpen last spring.

We writers knew that was a mistake. Santana has better stuff than anyone else in the rotation, and many of us were screaming long and loud about the injustice of it all. I personally picketed in front of the Metrodome, carrying a placard that read, "Free Johan!"
