It takes toil, sweat and tears to bring a musical vision to life. Yet arduous as the creative process can be, a composer's physical hardships and practical requirements are minimal, requiring little more than a clean, well-lighted space with lined music paper and pens at the ready.

Whatever the myriad of personal difficulties they had to endure, even Mozart and Beethoven never had to contend with plane crashes, hippopotami and jungle diseases.
