Jan. 6--SAN DIEGO -- Half a century after the USS Midway's maiden voyage, the revered aircraft carrier made its final port of call Monday evening in San Diego harbor.

Within the next few months, the former flagship of America's Pacific Fleet will become the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, taking a spot alongside the other vessels on the North Embarcadero downtown.
