Feb. 10--MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- East Cooper town officials, business people and even a few Boy Scout leaders put on a full-court press last week to urge the National Park Service to keep a Fort Sumter ferry departing from the Patriot's Point Naval and Maritime Museum.
Of three meetings held by the park service, the one in Mount Pleasant drew the biggest crowd: about 50. Most asked to keep ferries leaving from Patriot's Point. Similar meetings in North Charleston and Charleston drew far fewer people.
