Industry Mix, Strong Housing Market Spell Thumbs up for Queens, N.Y., Recovery.

Mar. 1--Better days are coming for Queens, economists are predicting.

A strong housing market and some rebound in employment are among the chief reasons for optimism, said Jason Bram, an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, specializing in domestic and regional research.

"As the nation grows and creates a lot of jobs in some industries and loses jobs in other industries, the outlook for Queens, say over the next five to 10 years, is very promising because of its industry mix," Bram said.
