Norwegian Cruise Line Scuttles Plans to Return Ship to North American Service.

Mar. 18--The battered cruise ship Norway won't sail again for Norwegian Cruise Line, company President Colin Veitch said Wednesday.
At a news conference to announce the line's 2005 schedule, Veitch said the aging ship doesn't fit into NCL's plans to have seven late-model cruise ships in its fleet to compete with rivals Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean Cruises.
The announcement ends a storied career for the 44-year-old ship in South Florida, where many cruise fans gloried in its classic lines and steamship interiors.
