THE cameras hadn't started recording her scene, but everyone on the set of the hit film, Jungle Fever, knew the obvious about Halle Berry. The former beauty queen was a wreck, emotionally and physically.

It wasn't that she hadn't prepared for the role. Quite the opposite. She was more than ready to play the part of a crackhead. Having interviewed more than 80 recovering cocaine addicts, Berry decided to "get into character" by going without a bath for 10 days.
