Coreopsis, commonly called tickseed, belongs in the "happy-go- lucky" family of flowering perennials.

The plants will grow in almost any kind of soil and survive in spite of common gardening mistakes, including watering too much or not enough. Coreopsis will also tolerate being sited in adverse light conditions, but given a choice, these bright bloomers prefer a fertile, well-drained environment in full sun to light shade.
