Ah, Montreal! Steeped in history and alive with cosmopolitan atmosphere. A multicultural city that blends its French accent with more than 80 other ethnic communities. A city filled with boutiques, bistros and joie de vivre. "Energizing, electrifying, amazing!" sings the Quebec government's tourist website in describing Montreal.

And what about the Presbytery of Montreal, you ask. Let's face it, "Energizing, electrifying and amazing" are not words you're likely to find describing any presbytery. But the Presbytery of Montreal does share at least one characteristic ...

PERFORMING ARTS SEASON '98-'99 Milwaukee Ballet flexes its wings with new season; Season essentials What: Milwaukee Ballet 1998-'99 season Where: At the Marcus Center Uihlein Hall, 929 N. Water St., and the Pabst Theater, 144 E. Wells St. When: Concert times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 1:30 p.m. on Sundays. (The ballet's traditional 7:30 p.m. Sunday shows will be dropped next season.) Tickets: Season subscriptions go on sale Monday through the Milwaukee Ballet office, 643-7677. Current subscribers will automatically receive renewal packets by mail. Subscriptions to all five Milwaukee Ballet events ("The Nutcracker" included) range from $60 to $260. Five-concert subscribers also get 15% discounts on additional "Nutcracker" tickets and 10% off all but the lowest-priced Alvin Ailey tickets. Four- and three-concert packages are also available. Single tickets will go on sale Sept. 1.
