May 12--LAKELAND, Fla. -- Five members of Publix Super Markets Inc.'s Jenkins family gained $328 million in the value of their shares during the past year, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The gains came even as the five sold 3.15 million shares since March 2003. Publix shares have improved 39 percent in value since May 2003, when they were worth $37.50. Last Friday, the employee stock line announced a May 2004 price of $52.25, an all-time high in the stock's value.
