While building continues, rapidly changing the landscape on the Outer Banks, one thing remains the same: Sam & Omie's restaurant.

One hot afternoon when my friend and I stopped for lunch, the steady influx of both visitors and locals through the heavy wooden screen door proved the popularity of Sam & Omie's, a well-loved constant. With its weathered outside screened porch and old-fashioned Nags Head-style dining area, the interior is like a familiar friend.
