Service Call for Hubble Telescope

NASA is planning to pay a service call on the Hubble Space Telescope to correct the optical aberration that has stymied its ability to transmit high-quality scientific data.

Astronauts are scheduled to rendezvous with the telescope to install the Corrective-Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement (COSTAR) instrument late in 1993 or early in 1994. Ball Corp. (Boulder, Colo.) has already begun manufacturing components for the instrument under a $30.4 million contract awarded by NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (Greenbelt, ...
