CONWY has seen gains for the Conservatives and Independents.
The ruling Lib-Lab coalition was savaged.
Despite a performance that many outsiders had seen as reasonable, including winning the Welsh Assembly's northern base for the county, the authority's Labour candidates were hit by the UK-widebacklash.
The party lost seven councillors, dropping from 19 to 12. Most notable was Eddie Woodward, the member for economic development and regeneration. He lost his Crwst seat to Plaid Cymru candidate Sian LloydJones by 48 votes.
