$27-50MM job could lure May Co.

Beachwood Place is preparing to almost double its size with a $27-million to $50-million expansion, Crain's has learned. The move may clear the way for May Co. or tony Nieman Marcus to set up shop at the high-end mall.

The two-story expansion would add a third department store and more space for specialty stores at the fashion-oriented shopping mall, according to two sources who spoke on grounds they not be identified. Rouse Co. and Forest City Enterprises Inc. are joint venture partners in Beachwood Place.
