Zeitoun--The Coptic Christians' vibrant faith is no doubt attributable to their devotion to Our Lady. At 8:30 p.m. on April 2, 1968, Our Lady appeared on the roof of St. Mark's Coptic Church, a shrine dedicated to the Holy Family, in a kneeling position, surrounded by light. Farouk Mohammed Atwa, a Muslim and the first man to see her, had been undergoing operations for a case of gangrene. The following day he was certified completely healed.
