For decades, residents of Mound have looked on with chagrin as their city's downtown area has declined and, according to City Manager Kandis Hanson, the area got the reputation as the "ugly duckling of Lake Minnetonka."
"Mound was kind of left behind over the years," Hanson said. "Towns around us have really developed."
But now ambitious plans for revitalizing downtown Mound are becoming a reality.
