In banking, Northern Kentucky is suddenly the place to be.

Fresh from its deal to buy Provident Bank, National City Corp. has targeted the area for expansion. And KeyBank has finally decided to cross the Ohio River, announcing plans for four new branches in Northern Kentucky this year.

Market leaders Fifth Third and Bank of Kentucky are building branches, too.
