NEW YORK (FNS) -- John Anthony's custom design apparel firm, J. A. Design Studio, Inc., has filed a Chapter 11 petition to reorganize in bankruptcy court here.

The petition lists liabilities of $900,000 all unsecured, and assets of $533,000.

In an affidavit filed with the petition, Anthony, president of the firm, attributed the company's financial problems to the poor economy and unusually heavy operating costs, which he said have since been drastically reduced. He also ...
