U.S. deaths in Iraq
The Department of Defense and family members have identified 802 U.S. service members who died supporting U.S.-led operations in Iraq. Of these, 664 died since May 1, 2003, when President Bush declared that major combat operations there had ended. The total of 802 includes accidental and non-combat related deaths. Additional U.S. deaths have been reported but have not yet been identified.
