Jun. 4--The future of American Indian business ownership and development took center stage in a discussion Thursday morning at the 2004 Sovereignty Symposium.

The symposium at the Cox Convention Center addressed issues facing American Indian tribes.

Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce and Tourism Kathryn Taylor said that Oklahoma Indian Nations are the fourth-largest employer in the state and American Indians make up about 12 percent of the population.
