Ag engineering at MSU: an update and lessons learned.

On Feb. 5, 2003, the dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University (MSU) proposed to eliminate the department of agricultural engineering by redeploying faculty and programs to other departments within the College. While he cited fiscal challenges as the primary reason for his decision, he maintained that the teaching, research, and extension/outreach programs offered were of sustaining value and would be continued in the other departments.
