Throughout her successful and varied career, Janis Ian has experimented with a variety of sounds and presentations. Her songwriting remained consistently good no matter the format she chose, although some recent recordings buried her strong lyrics with blistering production. With Bellie's Bones, Ian finally finds the sound best suited to her artistry.
