There is purity in the combination of old-time banjo and fiddle played face to face with no other accompaniment. The sound can be stately as well as wild and wooly. It is the sound of dance music as our ancestors heard it in cabins, at barn raisings, suppers and celebrations. Just Tunes honors those times with a series of 15 duets and two solo pieces from the old-time tradition, and is a pairing of two master musicians from very different backgrounds.
