YAQUINA BAY - A soldier who fell in love with Yaquina Bay's small-town charms was remembered Sunday for his generosity and gregariousness.

Seventeen small U.S. flags lined a deck overlooking small boats filled with crab pots at Sawyer's Landing Marina, while a flag over a boat hoist stood at half-staff in honor of Lance Cpl. Bob Roberts, who was killed May 17 by hostile fire in Iraq's Al Anbar province.
