A trip to the gardens of Hamilton College is a trip to bountiful. There's much to see here, especially in late May and early June, when many of the trees, shrubs and flowers are at their peak.
Your trip is even more enjoyable if you're lucky enough to have 82-year-old Eugene C. Putala, a professor emeritus of biology, as your guide through Root Glen, the Hemlock Enclosure and the Grant Garden.
